I prefer to be called Tim rather than Thomas (it is a long story) and I am a new old ham. I received my Novice ticket in April 6, 1976 and had the call WN4NPC. Due to several factors, one being 13 wpm CW and another being $$$ to by gear (paper routes don't make one a millionaire), I let my ticket expire. Fast forward to March 2002...I decided to get back into the hobby. I aced the Technician exam and was assigned the call KG4RZY. Since I already had the element 2 requirement from being a Novice, I quickly upgraded to General. As a reward for my accomplishment, I applied for a vanity call and was granted W4TME (my initials) on April 24, 2002. A year later, I passed the Extra exam so I could work all available bands. My ham interests are HF DX, 6m, satellites, digital modes, software defined radios, some contesting and being a SkyWarn weather spotter.

When I am not working to make $$$ to pay for radios, I like spending time with the XYL and my two Shetland Sheepdogs; John and Smokey. My other diversions are scuba diving, restoring my Fiat X1/9 and going to the University of Tennessee football games. I am a rabid Vols fan. Hope to QSO with you and 73 de W4TME. GO VOLS!
