HOWDY from AGGIELAND!

W5AC is Club Station of the Texas A&M University Amateur Radio Club, located at 582 Floriculture Road in College Station, TX. There is no mail delivery to this address.

Oh HF, we have a Force 12 antenna at 85 feet for 40 through 10 meters, and a dipole for 80 meters.

Our club station was first licensed as 5AC in 1912 by the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Navigation.

In the July 1, 1914 edition of "Radio Stations of the United States," 5AC is the only club station of any type (not just university) within the entire 5th District - which at that time included the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisana, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Please QSL through ARRL Logbook of the World, or direct mail to the following address:

Texas A&M University Amateur Radio Club
125 John Koldus Bldg.
Mail Stop 1236 Slot 427
College Station, TX 77843-1236

Our club members have a wide variety of interests, including fox-hunts, DX, APRS, digital modes, cw, and some contests.

We always extend a warm Texas Aggie welcome to visitors and newcomers, so feel free to join us at any time, even if you're not a licensed Ham. If you'd like to join the club or attend our next meeting, check our web-site, or e-mail the officers for next meeting time. A lot of intra-club communication takes place over the listserve, which can be freely joined.

When you're in town, feel free to contact us on our VHF repeater 146.82(-) 88.5 pl.
