I retired in 1996 as a Division Chief with the US Department of Veteran Affairs. In November of 2015, my wife partially retired and we moved to our lake home on Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma. I now enjoy a 1 1/2 acre lot for antenna installations and a beautiful lake view from the shack.

I received my amateur radio license in August of 1958 and presently hold an Extra class license and a First Class Commercial Radiotelephone License. I have enjoyed working the "gang" every morning on 40 meters for over 30 years. My shack consists of an Icom IC-7410 and HRD for digital modes, Icom IC-7300 driving an Ameritron 811H amplifier, IC 7100 for dStar, Yaesu FT 3200 for Fusion, and a Yaesu FT-8800. The antennas are home brew inverted V's, a Windom, and a doublet fed with open wire line and an Icom AH-4 coupler.

I have been member, instructor and VE with the Edmond Amateur Radio Society and am also a member of the Northeast Oklahoma Radio Association and Grand Lake Amateur Radio Association. I’ve been a storm spotter for over 30 years in Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, & Oklahoma. QCWA and ARRL Life Member. With my interest in boating, I served as the Commander and Certified Instructor in the Oklahoma City Sail and Power Squadron of the USPS. Although I don't fly anymore, I have a Private Pilot Certificate with Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor Ratings. My other hobbies are community volunteer work, foreign travel, computers and building antennas.

Steve
