100th anniversary of National Parks in 2016 got me interested in working National Parks On The Air (NPOTA). I started late (in May) and eventually worked 438 0f 460 park activations out of 489 total entities. In 2017 I continue working POTAs www.parksontheair.com and Summits On The Air (SOTA) www.sotawatch.org

 In May 2014 moved from Austin, TX to new QTH in in southern MS, 50 miles NE of New Orleans, LA.

Antennas:  160-30M W9INN Inverted Vee, 20-6M K4KIO Hex Beam rotated with a Ham-IV on 45 ft of Rohn 25.

Rig: K3 and an Expert Linears 1K-FA

My first ever DXpedition was with team leader Derk G3KHZ, Alan AD6E and Mike K6MYC in October 2008 as P29NI operating from rare IOTA's OC-181 and OC-041.

We made 10,649 QSO's, over 1,000 on 160M and a first ever P29 2/6M EME operation.


My 2nd DXpedition was June 9-14, 2011 to the Granada, Nicaragua QTH of Octavio YN2N and his XYL Martha with Madison W5MJ and Chuck W5PR.

We made a total of 3,454 QSO's.

Chuck/YN2PR made 550 6M QSO's in the ARRL VHF contest.

Madison/YN2MJ made 1,023 HF QSO's.

Skip/YN2GA made 1,866 HF QSO's and 15 on 6M.
