I constructed and host the N5ARC Winlink Gateway Station at my home in Dallas, TX.

N5ARC is the call for the American Red Cross North Texas Division ham radio club.

The Winlink Gateway consists of the following:

HF Hybrid Gateway:

- IC 7300 @ 100w  scans 80m/ 40m/ 30m/ 18m bands

- DR 7800 Pactor Modem

- Bushcomm 90' 3-wire folded dipole antenna horizontally hung at 25'

VHF & UHF Gateways:

- Icom IC121s 50w vhf transceiver w/ muffin cooling fan for full duty cycle

- Icom IC 221s 40w uhf transceiver w/ muffin fan for full duty cycle

- KPC9600 dual port  modem (vhf-1200b / uhf-9600b)

- separate 5db vhf and uhf antennas at 25'

AREDN Gateway:

Ubiquity Bullet w/ 15db omni @ 35'; Ubiquity Air-Router;

Tunnels hosted for remote access to Winlink Post Office


- 12v "auto" fanless PC - Windows 10; 2.2ghz Intel Processor; 4g Ram; 120g SSD Drive

- High Speed AT&T Fiber Internet Connection

- Remote Monitoring: Wavenode RF/SWR monitor on feedlines; Westmountain Radio 4005i Internet controllable Powerstrip; Teamviewer Remote Desktop Host

Station Power Supply:

- dual Iota dls45 14.5v power supplies

- dual Westmountain Radio Powergates

- dual AGM 130amp hour batteries

- Tri-fuel Generator for long term power backup
