Licensed in about 1962 (high school) as a novice, WN5CLA upgraded to WA5CLA, then Extra class about 1981. When vanity calls came, got W5RF as a call.

During high school, I built an 811 plate modulated 304TL AM amplifier in the 60s. Really enjoyed early AM days before sideband. Now back on AM with a BC-610 WWII era transmitter.

Especially enjoy aeronautical mobile ops. Pilot since 1975, 2700 hrs experience.

A35T Field Day 1965 - Deep South Texas!

High School! WA5CLA with Miss Texas 1964 talking on radio!

Finally on a large enough place I am experimenting with long wire antennas without QRN problems! Really enjoy my 270 foot OCF dipole and the addition of a 350 foot Vee beam (one-half rhombic) pointing to Europe aimed out over the bass fishing ponds. Of course having a Hexbeam really helps on several bands!

Just got into SDR radio with Flex3000 in summer, 2011. Wow this is exciting - the merger of computers and ham radio... and it works so fantastically well!

Enjoy chasing DX and rag chewing. I have renewed my interest in collecting interesting QSL and DX cards. Slowly working the DX. 293 confirmed. As it is said, the first 100 are easy, the next 100 are much harder and the last hundred requires huge effort!

Happily experimenting with remote control of Elecraft rig. Pretty amazing what one can do with computers!

Cardiovascular surgeon, trained in Houson with >40 years of experience working on the human "pump and tubing"! Especially enjoy pacemaker, defibrillator work as well as aneurysm repair.. See resume below about where I work when I am not on the air!!

Envision myself as an inventor - even got my first patent!!!. Working on some potentially industry changing ideas about the delivery and placement of "endografts" for aneurysms, heart valves - anything placed with a catheter based system. Read more at www.feldtman.com/resume.html
