Became W6STC in May, 1940 (Provo, Utah was in 6 area). Enjoyed 40 CW and 160 AM... 1940, at age 16 worked at KOVO until 1943... Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941 (I had worked Scofield Barracks a few days before on 40)... Then into WW2 August 9, 1943 and in 1945 a fighter pilot in AAF (P51 Mustang), then it all ended August 1945. Home and back to old job at local Radio Station KOVO until 1953, when I started my own business (MSS with Motorola 2-way radios) and retired 1987. After the war Utah was 7 area, so I became W7STC in 1947. 'Lots of activity during 1947-49 with good propagation. 10 meters was great. W7CU callsign and Extra Class license about 1960. Have held Radiotelephone 1st Class FCC License since age 16 and had Radiotelegraph 2nd Class FCC License before entering WW2. While at Luke AFB 1945, met a girl from Phoenix, Arizona and married 1946. Ham operation sparse now, but mostly enjoy trying new antenna designs and working new countries. Have been deep into computers since 1984. Have 331 countries confirmed as of August 2013.
