First licensed in 1964 as WA7BAY, I have always chased DX some, but since retiring at the end of 2004, I have become a very active DX’er. I am a member of the Western Washington DX Club.

The main rig is an FTDX5000 with an AL-80A amplifier running to a TH7DXX and 80/40 dipoles on a 70 foot tower.  Logger32 is my logging program, and is also used for operating CW and digital modes.

I have a BSEE from the UW and retired as an Information Technology/Telecommunications Manager with the USDA Forest Service. I enjoy computers, gardening, travel and spending time with my family and friends. I still like to build electronic things such as computer/radio interfaces, antenna tuners, and other station accessories.

I have operated from 8P6DM, VP2GBG, VP2LAM, VP2LAJ and FM0IX and have visited a total of 38 DXCC entities.  The rarest DXCC entity visited is the South Shetland Islands.
