Been licensed when the Feds administered the elements and am a 20 WPM Know Code Extra.  I know the code and I use it, and prefer it over any other mode.  It is a very efficient mode, especially during contests and during Dxpeditions, where one can rack up the QSO rate and have less chances of mis-copied calls.

Life member of ARRL, #1 DXCC (thru many a sleepless nights waiting and struggling to work ellusive operators).  I really enjoy DXing and especially CW DX the most.  My fist taste of DX and via CW was way back when I worked JH1WIX on 15 meter CW with my Hallicrafters HT-40 and 40 meter crystal, 3rd harmonic for 15 CW (Novice Band).  What a hoot!  Those were the days.

Station is modest. Basic transceiver, 3 element yagi and wires for the low bands. Nothing noteworthy or worth bragging about.  I employ a simple but very effective FLAG receive antenna for the low bands and some higher bands when I want to tune out lids or noise.  Works very very well.

Other hobbies/intersts:  Motorcyles, heavy metal music, my guitars, tattoos, just about anything outdoors.

We love dogs and have rescued many over the years.

I love our 4 legged babies (children) in our family: Heidi, Sweetie, Cookie, Rosie, Button, Honey and Buddy (pic attached). Buddy is a rescue Rat Terrier, as is Rosie and Button, and Honey is a rescue Rat-Cha someone dumped on the road right in front of me.   Heidi is the big girl, part Rhodesian Ridgeback and something else that is large, Cookie is part Blue Heeler and Sweetie was our "old" girl, part lab and part Korgi (unfortunately as of 3 June 2014, we had to put her down as she had been ailing for some time - we really miss her - RIP in heaven Sweetie) . Sweetie was a rescue as her mother and all but one sibling had been run over on a road.  We took Sweetie into our home and have had her since 1999.  All of our extended family are either rescue animals, strays or rescued from the animal shelters.  I do believe God has made these creations for our affection both to give and receive, unfortunately, the time with us is much too short (IMHO).  On 11 No 2017, we had to put down Josie, our "adopted" girl.  She came from the XYL's mother who had a severe stroke that put her in a nursing home.  Josie had a tumor on her leg we found out was cancerous and no cure, inoperable where it was located.  For while, we had been bandaging and cleaning the "wound" but now it has gotten more infected (even with meds).  So, we had to put her down on Veterans day.

Buddy (in the pic) is my best and dearest "friend", if that captures the affection between he and I.  He loves to go with me, in the truck, car or on the riding mower when I cut the yard, sitting in my lap looking important. He likes to stand up with his front feet on the steering wheel. He doesn't know he isn't a big "boy" so he isn't itimidated easily (LOL).

Hope to work you on the bands, from 160-6.  Look for me in the CW portion typically.
