Hello and thanks for visiting my QRZ page. Looking at my first logbook, I find that my first contact as a novice was on 15 Meters (21.111 MHZ) on June 21st 1975. The transmitter was a heathkit Apache TX-1 with a Realistic DX-150A general coverage reciever. I still have both of them and someday.... maybe someday.....
Currently for HF I'm favoring my K2 (built in 2001) and a heathkit HW-5400 (built in 1985). At this point HOA regs have kept my antennas indoors. A 40 Meter Carolina Windom and a horizontal loop for 17 Meters in the attic. For VHF, an Icom IC-211 all mode 2 Meter transciever and an Icom ID-880H D-Star into an old AEA Isopole vertical also in the attic. I think a well placed vertical is a possibilty so that is in the planning stages.
Operating QRP and attempting a little homebrewing seem to be my focus most of the time lately.
73's for now and I'll look forward to chatting with you down the road.
