Ham Member Lookups: 1847

I started as a ham op back in 1978 when I was 12 and I received my novice tag (WA2SWX).  I worked an old Eico 753 with a half-wave dipole.  After that I let my tag expire and wound up later joining the Air Force and becoming a morse intercept operator intel collector in Crete, Greece for six years.  After getting out I sat for the Tech/General exams and passed but never did anything with my license (KE6DDG).  Recently, in February of 2015, I sat and took the Tech exam again and wound up with my General tag back 36 years after I sat for my novice.  In June of 2016 I sat for and passed the Extra exam.

I enjoy working CW, HF Digital (i.e., JT-65, PSK, RTTY), SSTV and SSB.  I have built a couple of small transmitters and receivers and am trying to expand my knowledge base.  QRP really allows for easy experimentation.  I've also been working QSOs on D-Star, DMR and some C4FM.  The hobby surely has many areas to venture into and explore.  My station equipment as of right now consists of:

- ICOM 7300

- Yaesu FT 817nd

- Z-100 Plus tuner

- Signalink USB

- ICOM 51A

- ICOM 5100A

- Tytera MD-380 (for DMR)

 - Yaesu FTM-100D (for C4FM and APRS)

- G5RV and end fed L up about 30 feet.

Catch you on the airwaves!!
