I obtained my Novice license, WN4ZAZ, in 1964 at 14 years old. Upgraded to General class in 1965, and an Advanced class license in 1967. I lived in Bradenton, when I became a HAM, moving to Tampa (Lutz), FL in 1971 when I married my spouse Nancy. She obtained her General (WA4JVG) a few years later.

I worked as an engineering technician until 1985, at which time Nancy and I opened a Network Video store. I managed the video and VCR rental store through late 1988.

Nancy and I went onboard the US Government working for the Dept. of the Army, CIA and the State Department until retirement in late 2009. We lived in Spotsylvania,Virginia for 12 years working in the DC area, then PCS'ed to Europe for back-to-back tours in France, England, and Germany. I obtained an additional call during this time, M0ZAZ while living in the UK.

I retired to Inverness, Florida in October 2009. And I am back at HAM Radio in October 2015. My equipment as follows;

Kenwood TS-570D, Kenwood TS-570S, running barefoot 100 watts. Kenwood TS-450SAT and Heathkit SB-1000 Amp. still located in mothballs storage.

Antennas are 80, 40 & 20 meter dipoles at 35 feet, a Carolina Windom (80 thru 10 meters) at 35 ft and a 6-band Hexbeam at 40 ft.

A 2-Meter Xcvr, a Yaesu FT-2900 and antenna a wire J-Pole at 45 feet on 45 ft push-up mast along with the various dipoles and carolina windom.

I work primarily 75 and 40-meter nets. Some DX on 40, 20,17 and 15 meters. I enjoy 10-meter openings when they occur.
