I have been a ham since 1971. I am an Extra class ham and I live in Bellevue Washington, near Seattle. I love to go salmon fishing but haven't figured out how to seriously equip my Bayliner with a "HF radio" to be "maritime mobile". I had a mobile on my BMW motorcycle for 2 Meters but that was way to many things to manage at one time. Figured a motorcycle and ham radio were not for me. So now just riding.

Picture was taken by my yl on a cruise we took in the Mediterranean in 2013. It was our first cruise and we had a great time. We went on a cruise to Alaska in July 2015 it was fun but the other cruise was a tough act to follow. In 2016 we went to Disneyland and Universal Studios for our 40th marriage anniversary. Hard to believe she has put up with me for that many years. I had my first and (hopefully last Butter Beer).

I gotta be honest when I went on the Hogwarts ride at Universal Studios and I have go to say that was the closest I have been to being sick since I practiced Snap Rolls in a Cessna 150 Aerobat when I was a student pilot in 1995. Won't do that again.  Otherwise it was a grand time and I hope we can do it again.

HF station "Brag list"

IC-756PROIII with a Signalink USB and HRD for PSK/RTTY/JT-65. Use HRD for control software and logging.
I installed the Inrad Roofing filter and the difference is telling. It is worth the time and investment and makes the PRO-III an even more competitive transceiver.

Flex radio Flex-5000A. It's got all the junk inside it, I kind of like the display and such but still trying to wean off the Pro III. Guess old habits die hard.

IC-PW1 Amplifier

MyAntenna MEF-110-1K and 255 ft end fed half wave - so far working great on 80 Meters, hoping to see good results on 160 Meters. Seems to be working quieter and better signals than the Hytower on 80 and 160. Seems a wash on 40

Hygain Hytower 80M-10M

Hexbeam - 20M - 10M, up 30 feet

Cushcraft A50-5 for 6 meters, up 25 feet

RF Pro active antenna.

VHF rig is an IC-910H into either an LPA or a vertical.

I love to dabble in contests though I'm mostly in it for the fun of it - no great ambitions here.

I love this hobby and have been active in it off and on since high school.

I QSL100% via LOTW and EQSL. I will also be happy to trade you paper ones.

Looking forward to talking with you.
