When I was a kid I used to mow the lawn for my neighbor across the street, and he introduced me to Amateur Radio. I have had this callsign since I was licensed in 1977. My first rig was a Heathkit SB-102, which I kept through high school. Unfortunately, I had to sell my equipment to help pay for college. (I lost my logs from back then, but I have some QSL cards. If you contacted me back in the late 70's or early 80's, let me know.)

I was inactive in Amateur Radio until 2004, when I visited a nearby museum called Historic Speedwell, the site of the 1st successful demonstration of Morse Code to the public. Check out the Wikipedia page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedwell_Ironworks.  This visit rekindled my interest in Amateur Radio.

Lately I have been using various remote stations via remotehams.com for HF.  During my QSO's, and in my uploads to LoTW, I will state the location of the remote station as my QTH.  Remote locations include New Mexico, Georgia, Texas and the District of Columbia.  I may also make QSO's while at work using prerecorded audio files; they are a work in progress to find the most useful info to record ahead of time.

I enjoy working CW and Phone. I also enjoy working HF digital modes, mostly RTTY, along with PSK31; unfortunately many of the remote stations I use do not permit digital modes.  I occasionally provide communications support for local events (SAG wagon, aid station, shadow, etc).

Awards: WAS, DXCC, Triple Play #386, WAC, WAZ

If you have logged an NPOTA contact with me, but it hasn't shown up as a QSL on LoTW, or something doesn't look right, please contact me with your QSO info - I will check and if I busted something, I will correct it in the log and resend to LoTW.  Thanks for your patience.

I send all my log data to LoTW and I will respond to all QSL cards sent to me. I'm hoping eQSL will soon find a good way to represent multiple QTH's.  Until then, eQSL's will be sent upon request only.  73, Bill
