Sapelo Island, GA Lighthouse Expedition August 2010

Team from left to right starting with back row:

Update 2/19/1204: We are making the early preparations for the coming 13 Colonies Special Event for 2014 (July 1st - July 6th, 2014). This year in addition to members of the NFARL helping out as K2G stations, we will also have some of the members of the local GARS (Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society) helping out as well. The NFARL group will be taking on the QSL cards for 2014 and I want to thank them for volunteering.

In addition, my new club, GARS was awarded the Dayton Hamvention 2014 Club of the Year Award and some of our officers willl be headed to Dayton this spring to accept on behalf of the club.

Update 8/9/2010: The Sapelo Island, GA Expedition returned on Sunday August 8th, 2010 after 5 days on the island. We had a great time and managed around 2,400 Q's. I personally think that local expeditions is a great idea so I created a local expeditions group on Yahoo, stop by and sign up if you are a licensed operator and interested.GA Local Expeditions

Hey my name is Bill and I live in Kennesaw, GA. I was first licensed in May of 1994 and upgraded to General in April 2009. My former call sign was N3RXS but I decided to get a vanity call since many ppl had problems with the suffix in my old call.

I currently own the following equipment: Yaesu FT8900R quad band mobile in my Toyota Corolla. For portable I use the Yaesu VX-7R which is a very nice HT for 2,440 and 6meters. For HF I have a Yaesu FT-840 with a G5RV at 55' and I have a Off Center Fed diapole at 45 feet. I am also using an LDG AT-100 Pro Auto-tuner and a RigBlaster Plus for digital modes. My FT-840 is powered by an Astron VS-35M power supply.

I am currently a member of the ARRL, the GARS, as well as the Southeast DX Club and 10-10 International. My 10-10 number is #75469 and my M&M number is #132. Feel free to stop by my web site at www.wb4whd.com
