I was licensed as WN5HQO (Novice) in 1972. Six weeks later I passed my General and became WB5HQO, at Kessler A.F.B. I was active for a few years after I got back home to San Antonio, but eventually dropped out.
A few years ago I found a used ICOM T2H 2m HT in a pawn shop at a price I could handle. In 2006 I moved from San Antonio to Chesapeake, VA. I got active with the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service (CARS) and am a friend of Chapter 119 of the QCWA. A few months ago one of the members of CARS loaned me an ICOM 730 and the materials to make a G5RV. So I have been making up for lost time and having a great time!
Well it is 2011 moved back to San Antonio almost 3 years ago. I have now got a HW-8 which has seen some limited use, and a Drake TR-4 which needs some TLC. However I have hope that it will soon be restored to it's former glory.
I am now involved with several organizations:
Morth American QRP Century Club NAQCC # 3678
Flying Pigs QRP # 2642
Straight Key Century Club SKCC Member # 6855
QRPadillo # 59
I enjoy both rag-chewing and chasing DX. I will QSL directly and e-QSL.
