I got my novice in 1962 as WN5DWA. Couldn't get passed the FCC code so went inactive between 1963 and 1972. I got my Conditional in West Germany in 1972 as WB5JWI and also received a German call as DA1HS. Was active off and on, mostly off, until 1990 when I got my Advanced and Extra and started working with the local VE group. Stayed mostly on VHF until 2000 and then went into HF SSB in addition to 2 meters. In 2007 joined FISTS and in 2008 SKCC. Now mostly on CW and usually around 7114. FISTS number 12688 and SKCC number 5013T.

Love CW and mechanical keys. So I have a selection. Start with a Vibrokeyer wired as a sideswiper (cootie) key and a Vibroplex Original Deluxe and a Kent straight key, a Ten Tec Century 21 with a Vibroplex Blue Racer and an English Model No. 2 MKIII key, and an Alinco DX70 with a Lionel bug and a Navy type 26012A (Navy J-37 with slot for the Lionel wedge connector). I have a Vibroplex Annie and a Navy CTE 26003A Flameproof for the HT-40. I've added a Ten Tec Corsair 1 that I now have my blue racer and SKCC keys connect to. The Century 21 doesn't have a bug on it at the moment but that will change. I also have a HW-8 but that isn't on the air yet.

I've various mics but I rarely use them.

I like old boat anchors and am in the process of putting together my old Hallicrafters novice station as I can find the various pieces. I hope to soon be on the air with an HT-40 and SX-140 with R-48 speaker that I have just added. Still looking for the Matching VFO. I have the VFO but old radios are fragile and there are now some repairs to do.

Additional keys include an old Vibroplex Original Standard, an J-38, a Vibroplex Iambic key (for my Hallicrafters TO-1 KEYER), a J-37 on a leg clamp and a Whiterook Iambic key. The last two are for portable/mobile work if I can get either the Ten Tec PM3A or the HW-7 receive sections working.

Originally I had the Tempo 1 on the right - I think it was a clone of the FT-101.

original rig setup

Then I got the Kenwood TS-520 (great rig) and then started adding Ten Tec product. The Century 21 was my first.

Novice rig added to the station. Also I added an Alinco DX-70.

About half of my Key collection. I trade them out and use them all.

Some of the keys I routinely use.

Setup for operations during May 2017. Various VHF rigs are rarely used any more. I no longer have the Tempo 1. The TS-520 is with my son and my DX-70 is slotted for mobile use.

I respond to all who ask for a QSL and to those who send to me unsolicited QSL's too. I respond to all SWL requests as well.
