Updated 19-Apr-2013: Finally getting registered in eQSL and LoTW!  If you've got a QSL from me dated prior to 19-Apr-2013 chances are it's pirated.  I've been seeing some contacts on eQSL apparently with N7LV, but they're not from me!  Several RTTY contacts in there too!  Haven't done any eQSLing yet!  Sorry 'bout that!

I was first licensed on 31-May-1978 as WB7WHT (Technician) while living in Las Vegas, NV.Got my start working with radios while employed by Wilson Electronics Corporation as a radio technician. Met many good folks while working there back in the late 70s,Jim Wilson N7JW, Keith Purmal KC7HT, Wenn Turner AD7Z, Appo Aoyama K7FT, andJoe Banos, Paul Keiser, Marjean Berkley and Aldean Feitush, to name a few. Wilson, at that time, manufactured commercial and amateur radios, and antennas and towers. Later in 1979 I upgraded to General and then to Advanced class by 1981. By that time I was living in Reno, NV, where I had attended and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. Shortly after graduation I entered the U.S. Air Force, ultimately settling down in Colorado Springs. I finally upgraded to Amateur Extra class in 1997 and chose a vanity callsign based on what I consider to be my home town of Las Vegas, NV.

My current interests are in emergency communications, and am active in ARES and RACES in the local area. From Jan-2004 to Oct-2006 I held the position of Section Emergency Coordinator for Colorado, and most recently was the Emergency Coordinator for Colorado ARES District 14 (Pikes Peak ARES) until 2011. I've been active with both Pikes Peak ARES and the El Paso Co. RACES group since around 1992. I also have been active in USAF MARS from 1983 thru 2012. I have an interest in and am trying to learn about and operate with some of the HF digital modes.

Some of the organizations of which I'm a current or past member:

American Radio Relay League, Armed Forces Communications-Electronics Association, Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group, Colorado Repeater Association, Las Vegas Radio Amateur Club, Military Auxiliary Radio System (USAF), Mountain Amateur Radio Club, Pikes Peak FM Association, Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association, Ten-Ten International (26900).
