Licensed first in 1996 with a Technician ticket. Got my General license in May, 2006, and my Extra class in August, 2006. Previous callsigns: KF4JSR, W4PTS.

My favorite aspects of amateur radio are chasing DX, contesting, checking into my favorite nets, and of course getting into the occasional rag-chew. It's always a joy to meet someone halfway around the world with 100 watts and a wire.

Station: Icom IC 746PRO, Kenwood TS-480SAT, Heil ProSet Elite (which REALLY helps me break pileups), Shure SM-58 microphone into an Alto mixer via a Heil adaptor and foot switch, Signalink USB for digital modes, Bencher Iambic Paddles, MFJ Iambic paddles for a backup, Ameco K4-R Straight Key, G5RV, inverted V, apex at about 45 ft. Copper pipe j-pole for VHF/UHF.

New Hex Beam in the air! Thanks K4KIO for an excellent product! It's up at about 35 feet on a push up mast. I'm enjoying the hexbeam very much. It's a lot of antenna for the money!

I belong to a ham family, father (WB4PHC), sis (KI4NQH), and brother-in-law (KG4LZF). Together we form "The Whole Ham Family" club. Our callsign is KI4RDM, and a trip there here on QRZ will give you a link to our club homepage. Visit there to see if we have any upcoming events.

I am a member of the Sarasota Amateur Radio Association, W4IE, Southcars (7.251 mHz), where I serve as a backup net control op, member #5966, and the Brother's Net (7.191mHz), lifetime member #269.

If you hear me on the air, give me a shout...I'd love to add you to the log!!! QSL via LoTW preferred, but will direct if desired. Be sure to purchase a copy of CQ Amateur Radio Magazine, June 2013, and see me on the cover representing the Sarasota County Auxiliary Communications Service Field Day event. VERY proud to have represented this fine magazine and the fine Field Day operation here in Sarasota, FL!!! I will be QRV with this group again and again!

The picture here is my shack at my home qth.

This picture is my remote shack at my fiancee's qth in Jacksonville. I operate from here using a modified LDG multiband 33 ft elevated vertical.

My other "inexpensive" obsession is music. Visit www.dancartlidgemusic.com to get something of a taste of what I do for a living. I am a piano technician/tuner and also a professional musician covering many genres from classical to rock.

The above pictures are from my group, the DC Irish AllStarz, playing at the Irish Rover Pub in Sarasota, FL on St Patrick's Day, 2011.
