I go by Bob

Former WA1YCL, WN1INV when I was first licensed in the 60s. Currently running a Yaesu FT DX 5000  into a DX Engineering 43 foot vertical and a SteppIR DB11, and an Alpha 9500 .

Bought this QTH in 2007, did some planning for a vertical and a small yagi, but not enough money to make it happen. Finally got the vertical up in 2011 and the DB11 in 2015. Had been thinking about a hex beam, but it is just too ugly for the neighborhood. SteppIR was the smallest beam I could find that would cover 20m.

Have had many neighbors with solar arrays, with no rf noise, but the neighbor next door just put a system in and I have spurs from their MPPTs everywhere!! 10 over S9. Fortunately, it really only impacts the vertical.

City of Palm Desert was after me for the DB11 (June 2015) because of one neighbor complaint but adding 2 palm trees seems to have done the trick, City says they're OK with it. Here are some pics assembling the booms on the roof. This was after many years of saving up the money to pay for it and the tower installation. Only up about 20', just clears the roof ridge lines, and it seems to work.
