I am a Broadcast Engineer for WBOY-TV 12 in Clarksburg, WV,  heavily involved in RF work and electronics design, building, repair etc, also play with microprocessor programming, and computer programming...

 

I am a member on the Central West Virginia Wireless Association, the Stonewall Jackson Amateur Radio Assocation also a member of the local ARES.

Other project of mine as I love to tinker around...
 
I have a APRS digipeater /Igate (WV8TIM-9) running on 144.390 Mhz in Clarksburg WV. Its on 24/7 
 
Also currently running a WINLINK RMS gateway on 2 meters on 145.570 Mhz (WV8TIM-10) its ax.25 1200 baud packet also located in Clarksburg, WV. The Tower is 2044 ft above sea level and antenna is approx 300ft up.
 
On the same tower I am Currently running a DSTAR Hotspot on UHF frequency of 445.125 Mhz (WV8TIM B) at 45 watts using a Raspberry Pi with a GMSK modem board using the IRDDB gateway software.  Usually linked to the REF001C or REF030C reflector. Antenna is located at 400ft above ground. There is no local DSTAR repeaters in my general area,  I hope at some point either myself or someone will have a full DSTAR repeater here running...
 

I have been playing with DSTAR with a RasPI with the raspi DV AVR from KI6ZUM hooked to a Kenwood modified for hame use TK-860H for a 35w UHF Hotspot, I am usuallly connected to reflector REF001C or REF030C

now the new thing with digital is the MMDVM (Multi Mode Digital Voice Modem)... very neat and cutting edge, check my blog page for details on that gem...
