Click for Tuckerton, New Jersey Forecast

Hello, my name is Bill,

I prefer QSL LoTW or direct, no SASE needed.  I love getting cards and will sure return one of my own!  If you can please log me on QRZ.com, thanks.

My QTH is Tuckerton, Ocean County, New Jersey. Tuckerton is a small shore town about 15 miles north of Atlantic City. In 1791 George Washington designated Tuckerton as a port of entry into the United States.

Tuckerton was also the home of the Tuckerton Wireless Tower. The 825-foot radio tower was built by Germany in 1912. It is believed that the tower was used to order the attack and sinking of the RMS Luisitania by a German U-boat on May 7, 1915.The U.S. Navy took control of the tower when America entered World War One. The tower was taken down December 27, 1955. The three huge concrete blocks that where used to anchor the tower still exists to this day. Hence the name of one of the town’s major roads "Radio Road".

I have been a licensed Ham since 1985.I earned my Amateur Extra ticket in August 2010. My previous call was KA2WYG.

I picked the vanity call of WX4AR because it combines my two favorite past times, that of Amateur Meterology (WX) and Amateur Radio (AR). I went with the (4) because of a hopeful near future move to Florida. I like to think of it as "Weather 4 Amateur Radio".

My shack consists of a Yaesu FTdx-1200 with the MD-100 desk mic. A Heathkit SB-104A that I built back in1983. MFJ-564 paddle and a SignaLink USB for Digital Work. A Yaesu FT-7900 for 2 meter and 70 centimeter. My antennas are: Comet H-422 for 10, 15 and 20 meters, a home brew dipole for 40 meters and a Jetstream JTB3 for VHF/UHF. I also have a Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station that downloads to Weather Underground.  WWW.Wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/get forecast?query=pws:KNJTUCKE6

I am a proud member of  The East Coast Amateur Radio Service, member #40026. The Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society, member #1900.  The NorCars Net, and The Nuts, Bolts and Screws Net,

October 2012, we took a direct hit from Super Storm Sandy. As a result of tidal flooding my station was off the air for nine months.
