I go by my middle name "Ed." My original call sign was KK4GNH.  My interest in radio spans five decades. I was hired by local radio station WJGA AM & FM in 1967 after earning a Radiotelephone Third Class license. One year later I earned my First Class (General) Commerical Radiotelephone license at age 17.

I majored in electrical engineering at Southern Polytechnic University, but was called into the ministry after two years and began my theological education ultimately attaining a doctorate. In addition to pastoring a local church, I teach Biblical and Theological Studies at Grace Biblical Seminary in Atlanta.

My rig includes a Yaesu 450D HF transceiver into a home brew OCF 7-band dipole 11.5 meters high.  Tuner is an LDG Z-100 Plus Autotuner.  Mic is an MXL BCD-1 broadcast mic.  My VHF station consists of a Kenwood TM-281 65-watt transceiver into a KB9VBR copper J-pole and a 7 element Yagi up 10 meters

My wife, Gigi and I enjoy overseas travel.  The photo below is from our honeymoon in Maui.  The boat is the America II racing yacht which was a hoot to ride!  The second photo is me pulling a shift at WJGA-FM 92.1 Jackson, GA where I also serve as the station's Chief Operator.  Email: edhoard@yahoo.com
