I've been a ham since I was 13 years old in 1981 and have been active off and on throughout the years.  My callsign harkens back to the days when I was a freelance storm chaser for The Weather Channel.  This is a photo I took in while storm chasing in Webb, Iowa in 2004.

All four of our children have earned their licenses.  From top left they are WX4TVJ, AE4FH, KM4IPF, and KM4TXT.  Mom is N8ZQZ and she homeschools the children.  WX4TVJ and AE4FH both started college as dual enrolled students in the fall of 2017 at ages 15 and 12, respectively.

You will most likely hear us on HF mobile or on the SO-50 satellite.  We like to get out to operate in the field!  Our mobile station consists of an FT-857D, FT-8800, and Little Tarheel II / Larsen antennas.  The kids have worked quite a bit of DX from the Suburban and they are excited to try CW!

These are photos of a grid activation I did in West Virginia on SO-50.

KM4IPF really enjoys getting out and activating grids on SO-50!  In this photo, she was activating FM26 from the Wright Brothers Monument in Kill Devil Hills, NC.
