I answer to either Andrew or Andy on air. First licensed in 1971, I operated on VHF for a while as ZL3TCA. After a break of 30 years, I returned as ZL3ADW in 2010. Changed callsign to ZL3CC in October 2012.

My home station: Kenwood TS-590SG HF/50MHz, inverted-L antenna. I use DXLab software: DXKeeper, WinWarbler etc. A foldingantennas.com 5-band hexbeam goes up for special occasions i.e. contests, rare DXpeditions.

I also have Yaesu FT-857D and FT-757GXII transceivers, Dentron Jr. Monitor tuner, SignaLink USB digital interface.

Interests include HF DX (all modes), AREC (Amateur Radio Emergency Communications) and SOTA (Summits on the Air.) Sometime member of ZL3X Quake Contesters. I have started a blog mainly for SOTA activation reports.

I was introduced to amateur radio by my grandfather Doug White, who started out in 1930 as ZL3CZ, and later had callsigns ZL2JM and ZL3JM.

My last 10 QSOs and log search, thanks to Club Log:

Operating for SOTA from Saddle Hill, Banks Peninsula, August 2016
My wife, Julia, with essential holiday equipment on the car: kayaks and 40m whip antenna (Golden Bay, 2012)
Operating as ZL3ADW from the tiny Westland railway station at Ruru, for the National System Award 2011. 419 railway stations contacted or worked from during 4 weeks.
