Age 65 Married with 3 children, 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

Trying to be retired but still working extra jobs.

Member of the Antique Wireless Ass of Southern Africa and the SARL.

Interested in Antique radio's having had a Hallicrafters HT37 transmitter and SX100 receiver. Did my first 100 cw calls on this rig after rebuilding. Presently have Collins 2xKWM2-A with 30L-1; Collins KWM2; Collins S Line (75S-3;32S-3)(75S-1;32S-1);Collins 32V-3 AM Tx and 75A-4 Rx, Hallicrafters HT40 and SX28 Rx, Central Electronics CE100V and 600L.

My first decent stand alone shack was very meagre with an FT901, FT225R and my original Hallicrafters SX100 receiver.

I made many pleasant contacts from this shack and the equipment was quite useful.

After moving to a new QTH, much bigger, the shack became bigger too and the first of my Collins rigs took pride of place in the shack.

The Yaesu station had also grown considerably in size with the FT 901 being replaced with an FT 902, station monitor, speaker, Ext VFO, antenna tuner, transverter and 2100Z Linear.

My shack today looks quite a bit different with the Yaesu staion gone and having been replaced entirely with Collins equipment namely a KWM2-A and 30L-1 linear (bottom right), 312B-5 and KWM2 (middle). My Heathkit electronic keyer sits between the KWM2 and 312B-5.

Having recently gone into retirement, we moved QTH to a real downsized property. No more tower, beam or any such good stuff. I sold off some of the equipment as there was no place for it in a very much reduced size shack. Below is the new shack with quite a bit of goodies still in storage.

This was before all the wiring was added so still looks very clinical, but its functional.

QTH is Benoni, approximately 30km east of Johannesburg.
