If you are actively participating in the Grid Chase or not, all contacts that you have during 2018 provide points for the competition if you confirm your contacts on the ARRL Logbook of The World. BUT - If you do use LoTW please be sure that all information required in the TQSL has been filled in, ESPECIALLY THE GRID.  If the grid information is not entered in the TQSL, the grid is not credited. Nothing can be more frustrating to Grid Chase participants than to work a rare new grid and then find that although the contact has been confirmed on LoTW, the contact doesn't count for competion points because the grid information has not been properly entered in the TQSL It only takes a moment!

If we have already contacted during 2018 and your grid has NOT been entered in TQSL, please first enter the grid in the TQSL and then call me again if you hear me. I probably still need the point for your grid. If you aren't on LoTW, why don't you join and take part in the Grid Chase. It lasts until the end of 2018 and you will find lots of new DX while taking part. It is a great feeling to work a new one and have it confirmed for DXCC on LoTW in a matter of a few hours.

My Story

I grew up on a farm in Waupaca, Wisconsin and was first licensed in 1952 as W8LIM in Ironwood, Michigan  My main Ham interests have been DXing on 50 MHz, 144 MHz EME, Satellite, and HF DXing, but antenna space is very limited at my current QTH and most of my activity is now limited to HF digital modes. Past calls I have held include VP7CX, ZD8HL, HI8XHL, VP2AO, VP2KL, VP2ME, and 3DA0HL I first came to South Africa as a radar technician with the Manned Space Program in 1967 and have been a permanent resident here since 1975. I've now been retired for a number of years but still enjoy chasing DX.

My HF logs from 2010 onwards are on LoTW. If you want an earlier QSO confirmed via LoTW let me know and I will dig it out of the paper log and put it on LoTW.
