Long time ago...

Left: Starting 1975 with my first homemade RX. It was an ECO-Audion (Regen-RX) 0-V-2 with EF80 in that stage.
Right: You see the high power supply, the ECO-Audion 0-V-2, earphones and speaker. Top: other plug-in coils and Pi-Tuning

SWL with my first homemade RX. It was an ECO-Audion 0-V-2 Left 2 Right: High power supply, ECO-Audion 0-V-2, Speaker. Top: Bandcoils

1977 just before I got my licence. New shack with new audion and 70cm ATV-RX Big and still in function: The Audion RX 0-V-3 with lot of comfort. All homemade, of course.

A view under the chassis

Upper chassis with HF- and AF-Sections
Two years later I've build another regenerative (audion) receiver. Now it is a 0-V-3 with lot of bells and whistles. I can switch five bands at that time and has lot of audio-power. This RX is still in the shack and working. It is so stable that I've worked the RS-Satellites receiving on 10m and transmitting on 2m the past seventies. Well, that was a good time as a young boy. :-)

Some of my equipment that I'm using for shortwave and 6m:

  • Trio TS-520, max. 35 Watt in CW =
  • Homemade TRX, 40m, design by DK6SX, 1 Watt =
  • Norcal Sierra with KC2 and DL-QRP-PA, all Bands, 5 Watt =
  • Homemade TRX, 20m and 15m, design by DK1KE, 1 Watt =
  • Norcal-20 TRX, 20m, 5 Watt =
  • SMiTe, SMD-Pixie2, 80m, design by knightlites, 0.25 Watt =
  • QRP-40 mini, 40m, design by DL5JYN, 1 Watt =
  • ELBC, 40m, Original design by DJ3KK, Mini-Version by DL7HX, 2.5 Watt =
  • TenTec SCOUT-555 = reduced to 5 Watt =
  • TenTec 6m-Transverter, 5 Watt =
  • HB-1A, 20m-30m-40m, 3-5 Watt =
  • MA12/40, 40m, Design DK1KE, 5 Watt =
  • and lots of other toys to play with...

Some of my antennas:

  • Orignal G5RV for 80m-10m with ATU =
  • TH6DXX for 20m, 15m and 10m =
  • GPA50 only for 20m, 15m and 10m =
