This station will not be active on Saturday 17 May 2014 from Patshull Scout Camp. I have pulled out of Wolverhampton North District Camp. We are unable to operate without a key member of our team who is forbidden from coming on site to this particular camp. The next radio scouting event from Patshull camp will be the exact same team of licenced operators and scout leaders putting on a JOTA station for the other local scout districts in October 2014. 73 de M0YDH

This Special Event Station was active on Saturday 15th October 2011 from the District Headquarter of Wolverhampton North for Jamboree on the Air.

All being well OFCOM will award GB0WNS to us again and the station will be on the air for JOTA 2012 on Saturday 20 October, 2012.

40 Cubs, Scouts and Explorers visited the station. Mike G3JKX, Martyn G3UKV and Alastair 2E0SCZ operated the three radios and made 70 Contacts into 23 Countries. Most important of all, the young people had a fabulous introduction to amateur radio - some of them were thrilled with the contacts that they'd made. GB3IC repeater proved excellent value making contacts close by and beyond short wave propogation range. The radio operators enjoyed the day too. The District Commissioner and my fellow scout leaders would like the event to be repeated next October.

Please help us by offering to accept Greetings messages from our young people and understand that we're trying first and foremost to contact other Scout stations. If you are a scout station without a Special Event Callsign [I was one last year] then please say your callsign followed by "Scout station" and we'll try to get your youngsters talking with our cubs, scouts or explorers.

QRV on 80 metres around 3.7MHz in the morning, moving to 40m in the from say 10UTC. Also on 20m and 17m.

We can access Echolink only through our local repeater on 433.125MHz which connects to the Island Conference Server. One of our stations will be here :-

QSL via Bureau is fine either to M0YDH or GB0WNS. eQSL is preferred mainly so the young people can see some QSL cards this year. QSL by email is OK to my address above
