I'm operating mainly from Morbegno town in province of Sondrio very close to the swiss border. This is where I began my radio-activity at the age of 16 in 1969. So I'm effectively /2.
My rig now is composed of an HPSDR transceiver housed in a PC case.
The boards are : Metis, Mercury and Penelope on the Atlas bus.
Above, inside a CD-ROM drive case, is the driver stage Pennywistle delivering around 10 W and equipped with a small TX-RX antenna relay.
In the bottom instead, the audio power amplifier is fitted in a small aluminum case (top left in the folowing picture).
All these components are powered directly by the PC ATX power supply having the output cables splitted in two ATX 24 pin connectors.
So Reddie, who has got his license in the meanwhile, can try to gain the DXCC award making QSOs very comfortably.
But my heart beats fast when I go back to my first years of radio activity.
That's why keep some relics of that era with religious care.
This is my first receiver after getting my ham radio licence :
And recently I bought some radios that where unreachable at the time because of limited economic resources.
