Hi!

First of all thank you for looking up my QRZ page. I've been a short wave hentusiast since the age of 10. I began with CB, than SWLing and a lot of broadcasting listening. In 1993 I discovered the 2m band and achieved the first-degree licence. In 1999, after the cw test, I achieved the second-degree licence with the present callsign, but I never operated on HF since the month of June 2010 when I got my first HF transceiver (many thanks IW2HTH!).

Now my very simple station is composed by an ICOM IC-706 for HF bands a KENWOOD TM733 for VHF and UHF and a couple of YAESU handheld radios (FT411 and FT60).

The antenna dedicated to HF is a Rybakov 10m vertical (fish-pole) coupled to my RTX with a homebrew antenna tuner. For VHF and UHF I use a Maldol HS-WX1N dual-band ground plane antenna, for which I have to thank IW2HTH once more.

I'm also a proud owner of a "Spark" key by Piero Begali as you can see fom the picture below.

As soon as I begin working HF I fell in love for cw and now I'm re-studying it after many years. My present speed is around 15 WPM, so be patient if you get in touch with me!

I wish you all the best for your life and lots of DXes!

Paolo
