Note that, although my bio says my name is "Edward," I actually go by "Skip" and the only person who has ever called me "Edward" was my mother--and then only if I was in trouble!

In any event, although I'm pretty much an old coot (born in 1950), I'm a relatively new ham (Tech in June 2002, General in August 2002). I've moved my radio equipment to my retirement QTH, located in LaGrange, Georgia, on the banks of West Point Lake. (As a result, my lat/lon and grid data are for my operating location, not my official FCC address.)

I have a very modest shack. My HF rig is an Icom IC-7410, which I run through an MFJ-998 autotuner. I have an ALS-1300 solid state amp that I run from time to time. My only HF antenna right now is a G5RV strung up in the trees at about 40 feet. I enjoy SSB and digital modes, and will try an occasional contest. I enjoy collecting QSL cards and will QSL 100%.

I also administer the "Worked All Georgia" award through the LaGrange Amateur Radio Club. Further information about the award is available here: http://www.lagrangeradioclub.org/wag.

My previous page (and previous QSL cards) showed me in motorcycle mode (as a certified Iron Butt rider). Unforfunately, I've had to give up motorcycle riding. So, my new passion is traveling in my motorhome (a Thor ACE 30.1), No station built into the motorhome, although I do operate portable sometimes using my field-box IC-706MkII-G and a hamstick dipole, such as is shown in this blog posting: http://skiprd.com/?p=10.
