Ham Member Lookups: 383

I have been a ham since 1991 after 19 years of my husband Gary, K4MT trying to talk me into getting my license. Thanks to my mentor Bonnie, AB4KO who kept encouraging me to advance, I continued to test each month. Five months and 1 day later I got my Extra Class license. (Also with a LOT of help, support and encouragement from my husband. )

Bonnie and a lot of other local ham friends were avid DXers and got me hooked on that part of the hobby and I have worked close to 300 countries and have 287 confirmed plus 5 that were deleted over the years. I have over 100 confirmed on 10, 15 and 20 meters. I’m working on 5BDXCC and I’m 2 thirds of the way there on 40 meters and a third of the way on 80 meters.

I took a break from the hobby for about 10 years but in March, 2013 I jumped back in with both feet. I'm having a lot of fun again with dxing and just picked up where I left off around 2003.

I qsl via, eqsl, lotw, direct and buro.

My OM Gary has been licensed since he was 12 years old and is also an Extra Class. We enjoy the hobby together although he’s more into rag chewing than dxing. Our son Steven is KD4DOH and our daughter Alicia is KD4ECK. 3 of my 6 brothers are also licensed.

Here are some pictures of a ham radio miniature size room box that I created.  The Equipment all has lit meters and dials and actual QSL cards on the back wall.  This was in the March 2015 QST page 103.
