I'm retired now after working 20 years for Intel (1979~1999), 2 years for Applied Technology (1978~1979), and 5 years for GTE Sylvania (1973~1978). I was drafted and spent two years in the U.S. Army (1971~1973) after finishing college. Since retiring in 1999 I have done some consulting on statistical process control, but I really treasure having the time to pursue hobbies. These hobbies include amateur radio, model railroading, solar power, tinkering with anything electronic, improving my Japanese language skills, and taking care of our three cats!

My wife, Sachiko, is Japanese and 9 of my years with Intel were spent in Japan. We have one daughter, Megumi, who graduated from Santa Clara University in 2003 with a degree in international business. Megumi now lives in North Hollywood and has a Marketing/Sales job with a Tokyo based international hotel chain.

My radio gear is summarized below: ICOM IC-746PRO transceiver (HF/6m/2m), Heil Pro Set headphones with Heil HC-5 microphone element, Alpha 99 amplifier, Palstar BT1500A balanced line tuner, 160m wire horizontal loop (used for 160m ~ 10m), Arrow OSJ146/440 dual band J-pole (2m/70cm)

My transceiver-computer interface is handled by an ICOM CT-17 (radio control & data) plus a Tigertronics SL-1+ (sound card interface).
