. . . so please do not e-mail to ask me to confirm our QSO on QRZ.com logbook, eQSL or HRD logbook. I do NOT use them and I do not reply to e-mail requests asking me to confirm QSOs on QRZ.com, by eQSL or HRD logbook.

PJ4DX was issued to me in December 2013 shortly after we moved to this beautiful island in the southern Caribbean. I was first licensed as G8FEO in 1971 while still at high school in England and later became G4JVG. I have been lucky enough to live and work in Iran (EP2SL 1978 - 1979), Sweden (G4JVG/SM0, 1980s) and Papua New Guinea (P29DX, 1991 - 1994). In 2005 my wife and I took early retirement and moved to Sabah, East Malaysia, from where I was active as 9M6DXX and 9M8Z. In 2013 we moved on again, this time to Bonaire. I enjoy HF DX, DXpeditioning and contest operating on SSB.

I work on a part-time free-lance basis editing and producing books and am the author of HF SSB DX Basics which was published by the RSGB in November 2015: please see http://www.rsgbshop.org/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Operating___DX_13.html#a391 and scroll down the page a little way. In 2008 I wrote the World Licensing and Operating Directory, a guide to getting on the air from over 200 countries and territories around the world, also published by the RSGB - go to http://www.rsgbshop.org/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Operating___DX_13.html#a391 and scroll towards the bottom of the page.

USA STATIONS PLEASE READ: I also hold an FCC Amateur Extra license (KH0UN), so I know exactly where US stations are allowed to operate. But I am concerned about the number of USA stations who call me outside the US Phone bands when I am operating SSB below 7125, 14150 or 21200. Everyone makes the occasional mistake, but the sheer quantity of US stations who call me outside their bands suggests that most of the time this is a deliberate violation of the rules. I enjoy working USA Phone stations and I take part in the ARRL DX and 10 Meter contests, CQWW and CQ WPX etc. But when I am trying to work DX in Europe, Asia or Oceania I deliberately operate OUTSIDE the US Phone bands. I believe the FCC band limits to be unnecessarily restrictive, but I suggest US amateurs lobby the FCC and / or ARRL to bring their country into line with the rest of the world, rather than just ignoring the rules and risking a violation ticket. To be clear: I WILL NOT WORK US PHONE STATIONS OPERATING OUTSIDE THE US / FCC PHONE BANDS!

73, Steve, PJ4DX. Also G4JVG, KH0UN, HS0ZHX, 9M8Z.
