I completed my term as EMA SM on 1/1/2011, and also now serve the EMA as the “Special Advisor to ARES and SKYWARN”. I have been serving for the past five years on the Massachusetts Emergency Management Team (MEMT) representing the AR EMCOMM effort. I was recently appointed as the FEMA AR EMCOMM (ACS) team leader at their Maynard, MA facility. I am also representing all Non-Government Organizations (NGO) to the State Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC), where I also chair the Amateur Radio Working Group. To guide state planners with funding for our community, I authored the “Amateur Radio Governance Document”. Retired from US Navy, and Engineering and Management Consulting firm executive careers. Professional Meteorologist by training.

Extensive military, maritime, and US Coast Guard communication experience. As a navy communication officer, I was responsible for all shipboard VHF/UHF/SHF systems, and real time long haul HF communications with on-line cryptology, including the transition to satellite communication systems. During this period, I was also responsible for the maintenance of all communication and combat direction systems sensors. As a volunteer in the US Coast Guard (USCG) Auxiliary, I was responsible for tactical dispatching at USCG Station Castle Hill, Newport, RI. I was also qualified to control USCG helicopters. I was also instrumental in weather support communications for the America's Cup sailing races when last held in Newport, RI.
