Dear Radio Friends,

De W2MFT and I thank you for searching for me here on QRZ. My name is Mark but my friends call me “Doc”. I was active in amateur radio in the 1980’s and 90’s as KA2VYW and spent much of my time chasing DX and Oblasts. I am the Vice President of The Western New York DX Association (WNYDXA).

I recently returned to radio as I have retired as a Professor and independent scholar of theatre and film. During my career I have taught and directed theater in Sinaia, Rumania and recently was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy of Puppetry and Directing in Bialystok, Poland.

My Polish Students of American Drama

While in Poland I also lectured at University in Bialystok and at the Village School.

Roses Presented To Me By My Students

I am active on CW but can also be found on SSB from time to time. I operate on 10-80 meters and enjoy contesting and also QRP contesting. If I worked you recently in the CQ WPX SSB or the SPDX contest, thanks for listening so hard for my 5 watt signal in the contests. I am still looking for Oblasts and I hope that we get better conditions soon.

Our first 1St Place Certificate.

Thanks to all that listened so hard for our QRP signal!

PLEASE have a look at my blog... The WNYDXA TRAWLER...

A good source of DX and SWL Information
