I listen on 14.240 and local repeater 146.880 pl 74.4

 Updated February 18  2018 Virginia

Radios and antenna in operation are a Icom IC-7300 for HF , a FT-991 for the repeaters on base, FTM 400 FM/C4FM in mobile for repeaters ,a TYT 9000 220 in mobile and a FT 857D mobile HF. Have a Buckmaster OCF dipole 8 band 270' long about 45' up at feed point. I chase DX whenever I can, mostly on 20M, but work all bands. Listen to the local repeaters  and look for 2 M SSB.

Ameritron ALS-1300 is the first no tune solid state amplifier I have used-quite nice not having to tune! Use it to get the hard ones when needed as it will give 1200W.

Use LMR RG 240 UF (Times Microwave) for patch cords with bakelite PL-259 and use LMR 400 UF (ultra flex) for outside feed lines.

AC mains conditioner-Furman- for 120 vac 20 amp service. This has drastically removed line noises and regulates voltage keeping them constant for the solid state equipment also displays amperage rating.

Living in a subdivision, I have to fly low under the radar with the Buckmaster 8 band 270' OCF dipole running through the trees- have worked about any DX that I have tried to contact with no issues.

The unique result with the dipole-I have a 90 degree turn that runs along the creek on the back of my lot (which I wondered if it would work on the 180' leg) due to the length and my space, so my kind neighbors have allowed the end to tie to a tree on the other side of their properties. I am fortunate to have understanding neighbors.

I do refurbish tube type radios some for collection and some for sale.

I do stock many radio parts / components/tubes for sale. Email me if you need a part really quick - I may have what you need.

Thank you all for reading. Please feel free to email me at rwsw77@hotmail.com
