With this activity we commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant reformation. We use this callsign throughout the year 2017. The main activity will be in October, when the Day of Reformation is solemnly celebrated by thousands and thousands of visitors.

Legend has it that Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the All Saints' Church here in Wittenberg. He wanted to abolish the indulgence system and strove to return to the roots of Christianity. The date 31. October 1517 marks the beginning of the reformation process. There are many other places where he left his traces such as Eisenach, Eisleben, Worms.

Our QSL shows the altar cloth created and embroidered by Her Majesty Margrethe II, The Queen of Denmark. She brought it as a gift to Wittenberg in 2016. The flower in the midst is called "Luther's Rose". Martin Luther used it as correspondence seal since 1530.

(The photo of the cloth was taken by Achim Bunz.)
