I've been licensed as an advanced amateur since 1976.

After a 30 year career in the commercial two way communications business with a Canadian corporation, I retired in 2008, and  joined the Ontario Amateur Radio Service Net ( ONTARS - 3.755 mhz) controller team. Subsequently, after serving as a NCS, I was appointed Net Manager, in charge of staffing and maintaining the newly created  website:  www.ontars.com

In 2015, I joined the coordinators of The Trans Provincial Net on 7.055 mhz  as webmaster.  ( www.tpn7055.com)  40 Meters has been an extremely exciting band in terms of coverage during the day, when the 80 meter band is down in propagation.

Travel has also been paramount in our life, and I undertook the contruction of a simplified "HF remote station" that one could access and control with a common iPhone or laptop.  The system is very much alive today serving amateurs who travel to Florida for the winter and those here in Canada who are CONDO bound with no antenna possibility.

Read all about how I put the station together and just how simple it is.....
