Hi there and thank you for looking me up on QRZ, if we are just after having a QSO then thank you.
My main interests are HF Phone and Digimodes and I'm also fairly active on Dstar.
My main interests in radio are HF phone and also Digimodes and I'm also pretty active on Dstar.
Yaesu FT-857D as a back up rig (and mobile on rare ocassions)
Interface for digimodes: SignaLink-USB.
HyEndFed 5 band wire antenna
MFJ-1786X Mag Loop
High Sierra Sickick on the very rare ocassion I get to run HF/m
Small co-linear for 2m/70cm.
I'm on Dstar daily, usually mobile using an Icom 2820 or Icom 880D (and a little ID-80D handheld when at home) and running my own mini hotspot using either a dual band DV-Mega / Raspberry Pi combination or a Dvap / Raspberry Pi combination with a mobile wireless 3G Router or "MIFI". Both Raspberry Pi are running on the G4KLX Software which has proved to be both reliable and very stable.
You can download the the complete image file for the Pi from the Western D-Star website here. Its quite easy to setup and if you happen to have an android phone there's a great app available on Google Play "ircDDB Remote" which allows you to remote control your Pi and connect / disconnect from the various different Reflectors at the touch of the screen.
Ocassionally I also use Echolink my node number is 413920 and more recently I've been trying out the Yaesu Wires - X system which is proving to be very interesting although I'm only using an analog radio with it at the moment my node number on the Yaesu system is 17257 and my room number is 27257 please connect for a chat if you see me online.
Thank you for looking me up and I hope we make a contact again in the very near future.
Very Best 73
