I'm Michael KK4IOH,

The link address for my personal ham site and blog is:https://sites.google.com/site/kk4ioh/

Check out my blog for the occasional post about my involvement in many local aspects of Amatuer Radio.

And the story goes like this:

It all started long ago even though I was licensed in April 2012.

I have always had the bug. As a youngster I carried a transistor radio around. In my early teens I was lucky to have been able to occasionally follow the engineer of a local AM station around. Doc Graves was his name and he was a brilliant engineer. At 15 I started working part time weekends at an FM station and my Radio Career began. I worked at several stations and left radio in my mid 20's after being Operations Manager at a station here in the Memphis area.

I enjoyed DX'ing TV/FM and operating 11m as a kid. I had a 3el beam, Antron 99, Channel Master 5094 Scanner Antenna, and a RS VU-210 for FM & TV DX. I wasn't a typical teenager that is for sure. There were maybe 5 licensed Hams in my hometown and no repeaters nearby so I got a late start.

In the spring of 2012 I was having a Gyro on the patio of a resturaunt and met a ham. The conversation we had led me to studying and taking the tech test. I went to a local hamfest in April and got my ticket. I don't know the guys name or call sign but I sure wish I did so I could thank him.

My station consists of:
