I first became interested in radio when I was a young lad in the Air Cadets (2505 sqdn) .We used to have an old shortwave radio from a second world war bomber set up in a room it's antenna was set up outside with several ground radials on it with a fence erected around it .

I was at a local airshow where I met a guy called Paul who had a Clansman radio set and we got talking and he said he was an amateur radio enthusiast (2EOMPG) and said the exam these days was a three part exam Foundation /Intermediate and Advanced .

So in August 2013 I found my local club and went along and then in the November I sat my Foundation level exam which I passed .

My operating conditions are the following

My Cobweb antenna mounted on a 4.5 meter clark mast  ,fully extended it will go to about 5.5 meters above the ground due the post that I have mounted it on.

http://www.clarkmasts.com/products/general-masts/qt-series/  This is where the mast I use originated from the use of this mast is endless/

Still have some work to do to it like may be put a 2 and 70 co linear on top of this or a 2 meter beam on a small lightweight rotator.

The cobweb is equipped for 4/6/10/12/15 and 20 meters will  also tune to other bands  .

Recently I have mounted a 2/70 co linear above this on a short pole however I think I may mount this on a slightly longer pole .

For portable /mobile and base use I use my trusty Yaesu  857D  and when mobile I use the ATAS 120 A. which I think is working really well after all I used it to work SV1QXU who was also mobile.

Here are a selection of my QSO confirmations  or QSL cards.
