During the spring and Summer I do most of my HF from a little cabin 2200' ASL located in South Bristol NY. The primary rig is an ICOM 746 non-pro running 100 watts or less through a Cobra Ultralite Senior dipole placed about 50' at the apex.
Winter time brings us back down to the Macedon NY QTH (FN13ib).
The rigs we use are TS-850SAT or a TS-450SAT with a home brew inverted V in the back yard about 18 Feet off the ground because of the antenna restrictions.
The mobile and portable HF is a Yaesu FT-857D with Ham Sticks,(40 meter is what I favor).
I am a member of the Squaw Island Amateur Radio Club and Ontario County ARES/RACES located in Canandaigua, NY. I like to do public service events, Field Day, Jota, APRS, Amateur television, Satellite and Echolink. I am proud to be the Contact examiner for the Squaw Island ARC / Laurel-VEC for Ontario County in Canandaigua, NY.
Drop in on me any time !! Always like to meet new friends.
