Welcome to my QRZ page, If you've come to this page we've likely met on the air.

For QSL, I confirm via LOTW, EQSL, QRZ, and also via direct postal mail, no bureau here. Direct being my favorite :)

You pay for the card to me I pay to get it back to you. I think that's fair? Any questions, email me.

I try to upload my logs to LOTW about once a month.

My QSL you will recieve includes a pic of a couple of my vintage broadcast radios from the 1930's.

SWL'ers I do confirm your request as well.

Please scroll down this page to find our contact via the HRD log.

My equipment:

ICOM 7410 modified with a homebrew Panadapter(See Below).

Heil GM4 Boom Mic

Steppir 4element 20-10 meters, 6 elements on 6 meters at 50ft. (32ft. boom)

80-6 meters: OCFD Inverted V at 35ft. (all work below 20 and above 160 is done on this antenna)

160 meters: 130ft inverted L, 3 elevated non-resonant radials, 1 resonant radial on the ground. Still fine tuning it. I've recently been trying this on 40 meters, It has OUTSTANDING recieve on DX pulling in stations at distances I've never heard on 40. Sadly it doesn't work as good the other way around. But it still beats my inverted V.

Dentron Clipperton-L HF, bought it when I was 15 in 1976, still contest with it.

Drake L-4B, HF(backup)

Drake L-4B, 6 meters only

I always liked DX'ing SSB on 11 meters back in the 70's. I enjoy the occassional rag chew but mostly do DX'ing and contesting. Favorite band is the magic band(6 meters) next is 10 meters. If you find me on any other band I'm most likely contesting or just checking out a little DX.

A very busy 10 meter contest day via my homebrew panadapter. See more info below the pic.

No need in searching for a signal from someone. Find them on the monitor and just point and click on any signal in the waterfall and it automatically changes the frequency on the radio to match. Change modes etc. It's working from 160 all the way up to 6 meters. I probably have about $75.00 in the mod. Works really great on 6 meters for weak signal work. I can see you when your calling CQ 300kc up. Best 75 bucks I ever spent. Hi!

My YouTube videos and the link for the dongle drivers/software below will aid you in doing the mod.

Sorry I didn't go into further detail, the video was an after thought. I was home sick with the flu and fever for a week when I did the modification.

The pic you see below is my Aluma Tower T50-XHD with the 4 element Steppir(6 element on 6 meters) on top. The other tower pics are of my attempt to properly ground the tower. With 100ft of copper strap buried about 6 inches. Each tower leg gets about 30ft of strapping, each run tied to 2 - 8ft. ground rods spaced about 15ft apart. All the copper strap was ran out to the guys that are also about 4ft in the ground. This was a lot of work all dug out by me and my shovel. HI! I live in tornado alley and with it comes lots of lightning so hopefully the tower is about as prepared as I can get it. Now to the coax lightning protection.
