Hello Freinds,

I got interested in Ham Radio when I was 12 years old.Made my first radio in a matchbox with two transistors. Those were AM days no SSB.My antenna ,a long wire hung at the top of two trees, attracted many visitors including a German couple who took the photographs and published in some german magazine. At that time it was very difficult to get an Amateur Radio Licence in AP land due security reasons. My application was turned down twice.I used to operate from my University Club Station with the call sign AP2ED.

I got my licence in 1984 as AP2AM.At that time I was working in Pakistan International Airlines as flight engineer. It was fun to travel to different countries and meet the fellow hams.I worked for Singapore Airlines from 1988 to 1992.It was quite difficult to get a licence in 9V land.CW test at 12wpm was mandatory.I used to practice CW while on flight duties.Once I was caught by Italian police in Rome while praticing CW with headsets on in a park.I was unable to make lot of contacts as 9V1YO due antenna ristricions in the apartment building.

A good antenna has always been an issue with me.Finally I came across DK7ZB om Martin who helped me to construct 3ele 15m and 4ele 20m yagis with his easy to build DK7ZB match.

Presently I am working on EME setup with the help of another good guy Ben Andersen OZ1CT.

I usually upload my logs to LOTW,Club Log, and QRZ.COM after two weeks.eQSL is instant.Anyone interested in paper QSL is welcome.I am sorry our Bureau is not working and lot of incoming mail is lost due inclusion of green stamps(although I never asked for green stamps).I think OQRS by Club Log with PayPal is better and faster solution. My email address for PayPal is ap2am.syed@gmail.com.
