View of the former IBB Holzkirchen transmitter site approx. 30 kms southeast of Munich/BAVARIA.
In the background one can see the famous Bavarian Alps but more interesting to HAMs is the
shortwave curtain antenna array dominating the picture. Due to downsizing the station was closed
and dismantled in 2002. Nowadays you can play golf there - what an "exciting" alternative!

The 6-7-9 and 9-11-15 MHz curtain antennas were "fueled" by 4 x 250 kW Continental Transmitters.

With an average gain of 17 dBi the antenna produced a potent signal in Asia which was the target area.

A medium wave antenna with a 150 kW transmitter was used to provide coverage of the European area.
