I received my amateur licence in May 1962 with the callsign ZS5VF while living in Durban South Africa. In 1975 I received GD4EIP when I came to live on the Isle of Man. I am a chartered Electrical Engineer with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. I retired from lecturing at the University Isle of Man and then took up consultancy at Manx Utilities. I took fully retirement in 2016. I now spend my time doing amateur radio and woodturning.
