I received my condition class license in 1959 when in the military, stationed Bad Tolz, Germany. There was no FCC testing facility around Bad Tolz. I was tested by a General Class license Amateur, operating a Mars stationed at an Army Signal Corp Facility in Germany.

I serviced 20 years in the Army, operated a stations in Germany (DL4LP and Mars AE1LP), France, and Korea (HL9TU). Because the travel requirements in service, I let my licenses expire

After military service, I worked on a Department of Energy project at the University of Tennessee (UTSI) and then went to Saudi Arabia for about seven and half years as a expat.

In June 2015 I passed element 2 test, July 2015 received a general class and my old call K9UNY, and Aug 2015 passed elements 4 exam.

It’s was time to get back into Ham Radio and enjoy the hobby again.
