Current setup:

For HF, I use a Yaesu FT-857D or Icom IC-718 at 100 watts with a HyEnd Fed 100 watt 4 band (10 meter - 40 meters) classic version sloping with top at about 60 feet (with four 32 ft counterpoise wires) in order to keep my installation stealthy. I use a quarter wave vertical with four radials for 80 meters.  For six meters I use a MFJ-1762 three element yagi at 16 ft, A PAR OA-50 6 meter Omniangle at 25 ft or a Comet GP-15 at 45 ft which I also use for 2 meters and 440 MHz.  I also operate QRP portable on trips using a Yaesu FT-817ND which has been a lot of fun.

Shack of KA5ETS

I am member of two great local clubs, the Orange County Radio Amateurs http://ncocra.org and the Durham FM Association http://www.dfma.org/, and I'm also a member of the ARRL.

I'm also a big fan of Fender Rhodes, Hammond, and Nord keyboards and have played in quite a few local bands over the years and continue to play in one local band.

My 73 key 1975 Suitecase Rhodes Mark I weighs in at about 140 pounds.  The Nord Electro 4D is my favorite keyboard at the moment.  It sounds almost as good as the Rhodes but weighs only 22 pounds and does a great emulation of Hammond organs, Wurlitzers and Mellotrons also.

I've been licensed since 1980 and graduated with an MS in Physics from North Carolina State University in 1993 and I work as a system administrator managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers for the School of Education at UNC Chapel Hill. My favorite modes are JT9, JT65 and CW and I use the Bencher BY-2 chrome iambic paddle for CW.
